The girl behind The Hotel Florist

At six years old I was wondering the fields which surrounded my native Texas home picking flowers and mixing different textures and colors to add variety in order to "design" multiple arrangements for the house. Even as a young child, I understood how flowers transformed space and appreciated the balance that was required for an arrangement to compliment the room it was placed in. Details such as the color and/or the vase shape and dimensions were never overlooked and always carefully considered. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that this is what I do professionally for exclusive luxury brands.

My name is Franceska and I have been dubbed The Hotel Florist. I am a free spirit always looking for inspiration in the every day beauty of life. A smile and act of kindness is the most impressive thing anyone can wear. My mission in life is to live aspirationally and I am constantly reminded that every day is a school day. Good thing I like to learn! Call me a dreamer but I firmly believe in manifesting your destiny and the entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in my veins. My love of business and flowers are what got me to where I am today. Transforming space with flowers for luxury brands, specifically retail and hospitality concepts.

At the age of 9 years old my mother put me on a plane for the first time and I flew to Geneva, Switzerland by myself (with a layover in Frankfurt, Germany aka the most confusing airport in the world). It pays to have an international family. I met my half siblings, who are 20 years+ older than me, for the first time on that trip and that was all I needed to have "wanderlust". Flash forward a couple of decades and I have visited 46 countries before it was the "cool thing to do". Who knows, at the age of 9 years old, I probably was the youngest solo female travel influencer. If only Instagram was around at the time and I had a cell phone with a camera to prove it. Today I have decided on the title "Micro Travel Influencer" as I'm always looking for the best boutique hotel, memorable service and the hottest restaurant to share with my followers. My love of travel doesn't stop there. I am drawn to the expat lifestyle and have lived in Europe (France) and the Middle East (United Arab Emirates) well before the age of thirty.

There is nothing more that I love than traveling the world, to experience new cultures, meet new people and ultimately discover a new piece of myself I didn't know was there. When we challenge ourselves by living in new environments, it causes us to adapt, to stretch and become flexible with what we thought was and what actually is. With a new decade approaching, I have set the goal to travel and sling stems worldwide. Not only challenging myself but my talents. The idea of combining my two passions of flowers and travel not only gives me a permanent smile but also ensures my design skills are always original and trend setting.

I have always had a love affair with florals. My retirement plan was actually to work in a flower shop. However, in 2014 I became very sick, left all my professional obligations and took some time off. We can also call it a quarter life crisis. Regardless, I decided that I didn't want to wait till I retired to pursue something that I really wanted to do. In fact it didn't make any sense to me why you'd work your entire life, sacrificing time with your family and ultimately your health one way or another, for a "job" you were only working until you could retire, not work any more and actually do what you loved. There was little risk pursuing my "retirement plan" so I went for it, earned a Masters in Flower Design and opened my first company, Franzie's Flower Design in 2015 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I went on to open a Houston, TX location in 2016 and the following year in 2017 opened a Dallas, TX location.

It was also very important for me to give back. My goal was that once my business was financially sound, I would start another company specifically to do good within our community. Introducing Franzie's Flower Friends in 2018, a non-profit organization existing to deliver repurposed flowers to non-profits, healthcare centers and women’s shelters to boost moral, encourage and motivate. All supplies and unusable flowers are recycled and or composted. With pride, the non-profit organization introduced twelve Friends (one preselected non-profit organization per month) in 2019 which were nominated and ultimately selected by the local community. It was important that this non-profit was for the community and by the community.

After four incredible years on the operational side of the floral business with Franzie's Flower Design, I decided to end my time "manufacturing" and focus specifically on "designing". I realized there is an extreme shortage of talent and education when it comes to hotel floral designs and hotel florists. In my new role I am an international flower designer providing turnkey floral solutions for luxury brands, and my work appears worldwide in JW Marriott Hotels, Fairmont Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels, Hilton Hotels, and more. As the Founding Principal & President behind The Hotel Florist, I combine my passion for travel with my love of slinging stems, allowing me to create trendsetting designs for luxury brands around the world.

Think of me as an interior designer, but for flowers. I’m passionate about creating turnkey floral solutions for luxury brands that help them cohesively tell their brand story and enhance their destinations. To learn more, follow along on my artistic adventures at
